White Waters

White Waters

Their relation was like a stormy, fast and rough river. They were swept by the current, but kept living it together for a while. They helped each other fighting their own waves and rapids, keeping somehow their heads above the water.

At some time, they got scared. One remembered a sign put up by Global Safety Board near the river. The sign read: “Do not swim rapid waters”. Then the One saw the high bank, above the water – safe.  And One went, and the Other could only watch how the One struggles to safety farther and farther away. So the remaining One went to safety too. It happened to be the other bank more approachable at that time.

Now, both being on their own safe banks, they are screaming to each other across the loud rapids and waterfalls: “Do you here me?” They cannot hear each other.

They should have kept on swimming. Each river calms down as it reaches its destined lake. If they survived, they would reach a peaceful lake where they could safely swim till the end, or even beyond.

Divagation on the warning from Global Safety Board

“Do not swim in rapid waters”.  You knew not to swim in rapid waters. They posted so many warnings along the river, but You felt like trying, wanted to feel the water, and for a moment forgot about the danger – it was so beautiful and calm in the little bay.

The current took its toll and the river swept you through the rapids and into the deep and dangerous whirls. But, You did not stop swimming as the advisement said. You kept going on, trying to manage head above the water.

Once You were there, the only way out was to keep swimming – warnings are for before accidents happen.
